Oboe: AI-Driven Learning Platform Launched by Anchor Founders

Oboe: The New AI-Powered App from Anchor's Co-Founders
The entrepreneurial team behind Anchor, the podcast platform acquired by Spotify, is back with a new innovation: Oboe, an AI-powered educational app designed to make learning more flexible, accessible, and personalized.
What is Oboe?
Oboe empowers users to create and consume bite-sized courses on virtually any subject using just a simple prompt. Whether you're curious about science, history, languages, current events, pop culture, or want to prepare for life's transitions, Oboe offers a format to match your learning style.
- Nine unique course formats at launch, including text, visuals, audio, games, and interactive tests.
- Audio learning on the go: Choose between lecture-style content or conversational, podcast-like discussions.
- Personalized recommendations: Dive deeper into topics based on your interests.

How Does Oboe Work?
Oboe leverages a sophisticated, multi-agent AI architecture. Each AI agent manages distinct processes in parallel, such as:
- Designing course structures
- Verifying educational content for accuracy and quality
- Writing scripts for audio courses
- Sourcing real images from the web (not AI-generated visuals)
This parallel processing means users receive high-quality, tailored courses in seconds. Quality control agents further audit every course to ensure accuracy and relevance.

Learning for Everyone
Oboe's approach moves away from rigid, school-like curricula. Instead, it supports lifelong, curiosity-driven learning for people of all ages and backgrounds. The platform aims to become a one-stop shop where anyone can satisfy their thirst for knowledge—whether you want a quick overview or an in-depth exploration.
Access and Pricing
- Free tier: Unlimited access to courses made by others, and the ability to create up to five courses per month.
- Oboe Plus: 30 additional course creations each month for $15 USD.
- Oboe Pro: 100 course creations per month for $40 USD.
Oboe is initially available via web and mobile browser, with native iOS and Android apps coming soon.
The Team and Vision
Founded by Nir Zicherman and Michael Mignano, Oboe’s core team includes five full-time members. While Mignano now works at VC firm Lightspeed, he remains on Oboe’s board and shares co-founder status. Oboe is backed by a $4 million seed round led by Eniac Ventures, with participation from high-profile investors, including Haystack, Factorial Capital, Homebrew, Offline Ventures, Scott Belsky, Kayvon Beykpour, Nikita Bier, Tim Ferriss, and Matt Lieber.
Why Oboe Matters
Oboe is designed for the modern learner, offering engaging micro-courses that fit seamlessly into busy lives. The focus on real, human-verified content and multiple learning formats sets it apart from AI chatbots and generic content generators. As lifelong learning becomes increasingly important in a fast-changing world, Oboe could transform how people discover and absorb new knowledge.
