Nvidia Achieves Record Revenue Driven by AI Demand in Data Centers

Nvidia Surges to Record Revenue as AI Demand Accelerates
Nvidia, now the world’s most valuable company, has reported remarkable financial results for the latest quarter, highlighting the ongoing AI boom’s impact on the technology sector.
Quarterly Highlights
- Revenue: $46.7 billion (56% increase year-over-year)
- Net Income: $26.4 billion (59% growth compared to last year)
- Data Center Sales: $41.1 billion, with $27 billion from the new Blackwell GPU platform
AI at the Core of Growth
Most of Nvidia’s revenue growth comes from the surging demand for AI computing in data centers. The company’s latest Blackwell chip generation has quickly become central to this expansion, with CEO Jensen Huang stating, “Blackwell is the AI platform the world has been waiting for. The AI race is on, and Blackwell is the platform at its center.”
Nvidia also played a significant role in processing OpenAI’s recent open source gpt-oss models, reaching speeds of 1.5 million tokens per second on a single Blackwell GB200 NVL72 system. This underlines how Nvidia’s hardware is powering the next generation of advanced AI applications.
Challenges in the Chinese Market
Despite its global success, Nvidia faces headwinds in China. The company recorded no sales of its China-specific H20 chip to Chinese customers last quarter. However, $650 million worth of H20 chips were sold outside China.
U.S. export regulations now allow Nvidia to sell certain chips to China, provided a 15% export tax is paid. Yet, China’s government has discouraged local businesses from using Nvidia chips, leading to a reported halt in H20 production for the Chinese market. This ongoing uncertainty puts Nvidia’s future sales in China at risk.
Looking Ahead
Nvidia forecasts revenues of $54 billion for the next quarter, with the expectation that this figure does not include any sales of the H20 chip to China. The company’s dominance in AI hardware continues to shape the broader tech landscape, even as geopolitical complexities influence its international strategy.
