Superhuman, founded by Rahul Vohra, Vivek Sodera, and Conrad Irwin, had previously raised over $114 million in funding from notable investors like a16z, IVP, and Tiger Global, achieving a last valuation of $825 million.

The acquisition is set to transform how professionals interact with email, leveraging Superhuman's technology to create a more intelligent and efficient communication experience. Shishir Malhotra, CEO of Grammarly, highlighted the pivotal role of email in the professional landscape:

This acquisition is part of a broader strategic expansion for Grammarly in the AI productivity space. Last year, Grammarly acquired collaborative productivity software Coda, a deal that also saw Coda’s co-founder, Shishir Malhotra, step into the CEO role at Grammarly.
Further demonstrating its robust growth and investment in AI, Grammarly also secured a significant non-dilutive investment of $1 billion from General Catalyst in May 2025. This funding model allows Grammarly to expand without diluting equity, reinforcing its financial strength and commitment to innovation.
