How the New AI Editing Works
With this update, users can simply tap the “Help me edit” button within the Google Photos editor. From there, they can describe the changes they want to make, such as:

If you’re unsure where to start, Gemini offers suggestions or you can ask it to “make it better” for automatic improvements. The AI also supports follow-up requests, so you can continue refining your edits with additional instructions.
Who Can Access the Feature?
The AI editing tool is currently available to Android users in the U.S. who are 18 years or older, and it works in English. The feature was initially released for Pixel 10 users in August, but is now rolling out to a wider audience.

Alongside the AI photo editing, Google Photos is also introducing support for C2PA Content Credentials. This feature helps users identify when an image has been created or modified using AI, offering more transparency for both creators and viewers. This, too, is expanding from Pixel devices to all Android users.
