Introducing the Flourishing AI (FAI) Benchmark
In partnership with Gloo, a "faith tech" company Gelsinger invested in nearly a decade ago, he has launched the Flourishing AI (FAI) benchmark. This tool aims to evaluate how well large language models (LLMs) align with essential aspects of human well-being.
The FAI benchmark draws inspiration from the Global Flourishing Study, an ambitious survey led by Harvard and Baylor Universities that measures well-being across different cultures and communities. Gloo adapted six key categories from the study:
- Character and Virtue
- Close Social Relationships
- Happiness and Life Satisfaction
- Meaning and Purpose
- Mental and Physical Health
- Financial and Material Stability
Additionally, Gloo introduced a seventh dimension: Faith and Spirituality, expanding the benchmark’s scope to reflect a more holistic view of human flourishing.
